Dennis Kaan introduced Captain Jeremy Currin of the Army ROTC “Ram Battalion” to introduce the Cadet of the Month. Captain Currin is an Infantry Officer and in the ROTC unit he is the Operations Officer and the MS2, second year class, Instructor. He served three tours in the middle east. He then introduced Cadet John Michael Buttitta III, a second year cadet, as the Cadet of the Month...

Cadet Buttitta said that he is a Biomedical Sciences major with an emphasis on Pre. Med. He carries a 3.3 grade point average and has been involved in a wide variety of community volunteer efforts. He has been a Seasonal Park Ranger in Larimer County, a Trail Builder, a volunteer with the Poudre Fire Authority which got him very involved in helping with the Hyde Park Fire and he has volunteered as an EMT with the Medical Center of the Rockies. Most interesting are his teaching of Martial Arts to 4 through 7 year olds and his playing the Jaz Base in musical groups.

He joined the Army because his family has always been in the military since the Revolutionary War and he wants to serve. His grandfather told him to get a college degree, any degree, then join the Army. Cadet Buttitta hopes to become an Orthopedic Surgeon with service in the Army.
